younggun
was fairly expensive but given the high strandard of work which has been done i think its quite reasonable i went through my local truck parts supplier which proberly cost me more but wot the hell its done now . www.clutchmaster.uk.com this is who has done the work there bassed in northhampton Edited January 9, 2009 by younggun
gritineye
I have only ever worked on a meadows clutch with the engine out so can't help a lot, a couple of long studs screwed into the flywheel to align the cover before pushing it in may help. Good link, they know their stuff.
6 X 6
was fairly exspensive but given the hige strandard of work which has been done i think its quite ressonble That's a really impressive rebuild and money well spent. I think we've all learnt that you can't cut corners and that having a specialist firm undertake this sort of work is the cheapest option over the long term. Thanks for the ClutchMaster link. Thanks for the ClutchMaster link. thats the way i looked at it 6x6 far beter to do it right first time than have to go take it all apart again to get it right thats y i decided to have it sent away as ive never undertook a job like this before on any vehical but ime learning clutchmasters seem to be quite gd with one off jobs once they,ve done a one off clutch its then added to the catalogue should another ever come there way and i dont think ther are many companys left who will undertake one off jobs and go out of there way for , as i said i am well chuffed with the end results nick Edited January 9, 2009 by younggun
gritineye
The clutch is away being referbd by my local truck parts suplyer . there only concern is that the relesse bearing dous not seem to be a tight fit on the shaft is this rite or is soumthing missing . the relese bearing seems just to be floting on the relesse levers . can enyone shed some light on this please ? nick This is clearer now the clutch has been cleaned up, as I have got rid of all my meadows spares I have nothing to compare it with, presumably Clutchmasters are happy with the clearance. Although the manual shows there is a path for grease to get between there is no separate brass/oilite type bearing sleeve, suggesting it shouldn't touch, it doesn't show any clearance either, so what is the point of the centre tube? I wonder if it was a 'good idea' at design stage to have a bearing here but it later deleted, most modern clutches don't have this feature do they.
