N.O.S.
She's looking good John, just like your workshop (envy envy). Judging by the number of doors, it looks like you've got room for one more, besides the "T" and the '42 Chevy? Keep the pics coming!

42 chevy
-Data plates uncovered under 5 layers of paint on the frame, I think it actually "saved" them. -HOLMES data plate -firewall work, should have waited until I remove the cab, oh well you learn -New "floor " to battery box -The new shop before I moved everything in:)
42 chevy
After I started stripping the cab and making some repairs to the left front cab mount, I started toying with the idea of seperating the firewall (cowl) from the cab. After much thought , I decided to go ahead and do it. Well to say the least, I am glad I did, as more rust was found, incidently, the 2 rear cab mount bolts were rusted in half. Pictures are attached. The next phase is to clean up the rust, make the neccesary repairs to the sheet metal, and soad blast the cab. 42 chevy
Thierry; I will be stopping by the metal fabrication place I use this week to give them dimensions for the metal I need for the cab. I got my data plates from "Lt Horne" that is his ebay id, he is located in Poland. He does great work, and I paid alot less than if I had them reproduced
42 chevy
Cab has been removed and new sheet metal is being formed for the repairs. All bolts have been removed from the wrecker bed, just awaiting my friend to show up with his lift so it can been removed. Pictures attached. N.O.S.
I can't help thinking with those booms you should be able to "self-unload" the body, John :-D
AndyFowler
I can't help thinking with those booms you should be able to "self-unload" the body, John :-D Great minds NOS I thought two big anchors would do it ! :-D
42 chevy
You now, I did not think of that, The wrecker bed lays right up against the wrecker frame, I will have to take a another look at that. John
AndyFowler
After a bit of thought ,would the winch drive chain need to stretch as the bed rose ? So probably a non-starter ! Maybe buy a Ward La France to add to your nice collection and use that ! Always good to have an excuse for fleet expansion ! :-D
42 chevy
On the Diamond T, the boom assembly is seperate from the bed. I will not be removing the booms, so the winch drive chain is not an issue. John

N.O.S.
Howard, I checked out John's link to the data plate supplier Lt Horne and the quality looks extremely good as he suggested! Tony
42 chevy
As requested, here are photos of the data plates, sorry about the bright spots but it was the flash from the camera, plus, I did not take them out of the packing material. The engine plate I acquired from another source, as it is NOS. I had my plates done in zinc, but he offers them in brass also. I am not sure if that is the correct data plate for the front winch , as the one pictured in my TM is a little differant. John
