antarmike Posted July 9, 2008 Author Share Posted July 9, 2008 Just looking in a book called Warplanes of WW II ( Robert Jackson,) to see if I could find a Nick-name, but found a schoolboy howler instead. He says the Beaufighter was proposed as a night fighter fitted with AI ( Artificial Intelligence ) Radar. Seeing as electronic computers didn't exist in 1939 I rather think he meant AI ( Airbourne Interception) Radar! Don't believe everything you read in books...
