No Signals
Worst day in British military history for casualties, and sent so casually. First day of the Battle of The Somme.
N.O.S.
A sobering thought, but needs to be remembered.

Joris
That number so so vast as to be incomprehensible...
Tony B
When you vist the area, especially for me around the Hawthorn Crater the first thought is my God it's so small! They must have been quing up to fall over! I was lucky enough to get my first visit on 2006 on the 90th anniversary with the 10th Essex, No man's land and Andy Robertshaw. Talk about visiting with the best!
Snapper
It is a remarkable place. Walk down from the Hawthorn crater and then hike up the Redan Ridge and count the cemeteries.
