Snapper Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Just watch your own vehicles.....the stories of people nicking for scrap proliferate. This poor girl will be in China before you can say Jack Lobinson. MB Quote
Tony B Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 coming back as a load of cheap spanners. :shake: Quote
LeeEnfield Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Aye,......the price metal is fetching at the mo, does seem to be causing vehicles that may be made available for sale, to be sold to the scrap man instead. :-( Recently I heard of 2 QL's, ok both needed (loads of) work, etc,.....but they didn't even get offered for sale;..........except to the scrapman. Quote
Adam Elsdon Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Look at the bright side, if noboby scrapped anything, then your vehicle wouldn't be so rare, or interesting, and you would feel bad about scavenging parts from a better example. Some stuff after all is just Beyond Economical Repair (B.E.R.)! Looks like the old girl has given plenty of useful service and now is off to the great big road in the sky, or the alternative less rose tinted view is, it was crap taking up valuable space and is worth something weighed in! Tony B Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Trouble is there was a thing on the news last night, people are nicking older cars speciffically to weigh it in. So take care of those piles of 'Useless metal' lying about. Quote

With the new stuff being so much more plastic,.........and with better security, etc, the older stuff is more apealing, to those who are on the look out to make a fast buck. :argh: Quote
Tony B Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Latest thing seems to be one pipe cutter, under the 4x4s on forecourts and off with the Catalitc converters. At least we don't have to worry about that one. Half a dozen knackered Land Rover axles and a few odd bits in an old Metro £190 !!!!! Quote
