Installing a new Jeep Starter ring

Just thought you would like to see how to install a new Jeep starter ring on the flywheel and at the same time have a BBQ!

This is the first time I have tried to put photos on the HMVF so fingures crossed.

First cut the existing ring away from the flywheel

Heat up the BBQ and drop the new ring onto it, cook for 15 minuets

Don't try to pick it up by hand!

Ready to be refitted!

If anyone's interested will post more of the engine rebuild?

Hi Dodgey.

Like it! Is this how it is done in the TM and it would be good to have some pictures of the rebuild, you may want to put them up in the Blog/restoration section.

This reminds me of how my Great Grandfather would 'tire' cart wheels 8)
