Patterson water purification trailers/units RE

Recommended Posts

Mick, there are very few images of the Patterson trailers in use - not a subject most photographers bothered with. This is the only one I have found of a Patterson in use in SVN, despite there being some 12 deployed during the time the Australian Army was in-country.

It was also published on page 243 of my book 'Mud and Dust'.

Hello Mick.

I was at 'Crown' in '66 tho not on the road project. My place was in the Power station at the airfield. My reason for this email is that I'm sure I recognise the guy in the second pic, stood with his hands in his pockets. If it's who I think it is, I joined RE boys service with him. (Can give his name if asked). Another reason is that back in Singapore I was charged with a Patterson 3/4 ton water purification water trailer. It had a 1000gal tank just like your pics. 42 Cdo spotted it and then requested it every time they went out into the Ulu, so guess who went with it. ?
