anguscattlejulian
Does anyone have any information on whether any of the Bedford RL fuel tankers illustrated in the picture survived life in civvy street? We have a small T7 Gloster Meteor exhibit on that same site and would love to track down a tanker to complement it and the Green Goddess we already have. Richard Farrant
I think they may be Bedford SL, the 4x2 chassis, (RL is 4x4, but has same cab). A lot of these vehicles were used after demob for refueling plant on construction and motorway sites.

Zero-Five-Two
There's one here, if you fancy a serious restoration!! It is in a bit of a state, but looks complete apart from the cab which has disintegrated completely See thread "Elephant Graveyard" It was still there earlier this year. If it is of interest to you PM me for details
