Val
So it's registered, taxed, and insured. It even has number plates lol. The lights are all working. Apparently it needs 3 new gaskets, and the accumulators still need charging. How how I repair the gaskets and how much am I looking at? sirhc
You repair the gaskets by changing them. How much they cost depends on which ones they are, there are thousands of them on a Saracen!
Marmite!!
Val, you said the vehicle had been rebuilt so all these problems should of been sorted.. The vehicles just been rebuilt with a complete engine rebuild. She purrs like a kitten!
Tony B
Which gaskets? There are some very good gasket retosring stuff about now. Try ARCO on the web, they do a lot of this stuff. http://www.arco.co.uk/cgi-bin/arcobvp.dll/Arco/controller Worth looking at as they also do stuff for rebuliding gear cogs and crank cases. Val
It's the suspension gaskets apparently. Rereading the emails, it seems the engine was rebuilt and not the whole thing. His names Fred
sirhc
Suspension gaskets? Who says they need replacing? You need to buy unless you have them already as many manuals for this vehicle as possible, including the user handbook, servicing schedule, parts book and any EMERS. You will probably be able to get new gaskets from Banisters, but if you phone up and ask for suspension gaskets I suspect he won't want to help you. You'll need to give him the Nato Stock Number (NSN) for any parts you want, which you will be able to find in the parts book. Leaking suspension won't stop the Saracen being road legal, you'll just need to keep the oil level topped up. All British AFVs of the period leak from the suspension/drive line components. Val
Also need new gators too. Same place for those? I've already got the user manuals and the unit repair manual but where can I get the others?
