Jack
Morning all....... A chum is looking for some rope to go around the front of his bumper that you see on the front of GMC's etc etc. I think it is around an inch thick - does anyone know of anyone who sells it? Cheers Jack.
Jim Clark
We do Jack, its genuine Manilla and we sell it for £1-00 per foot with spliced ends, ie a Jeep tow rope is 24ft long and £24-00. Jim.

GMC drivers aren't so rich as the Jeep owners  :dunno:

Rick W
GMC owners probably need it more for when they run out of petrol....

Tony B
The Ropery at Chatham Dockyard. They also do synthetic that looks just like Manilla, and they sell offcuts at bargin prices. Fantastic people and so knowlegable.
Jolly Jeeper
There is a great place for rope in Leeds, West Yorks, too - Lion Industries(?). Will check name and get a phone number if anyone needs to go there. JC

Degsy
When you get the rope don't leave it on permanently, it will deteriorate with rain and sunlight.
Tony B
Thats the joy of the Chatham stuff. They make synthetic that looks like manilla for classic boats. Not affected by sun or weather. The rope works there is the worlds longest. There is a section of tow rope for Invincible that was made there, now that would tow a Jimmy. Simon Daymond
Lion industries are across the road from where I work, if that helps? Sometimes it's easier to order things in person, rather thjan trying to describe it over the phone.
Tony B
PS rope is usual measured by circumference not diameter.
