Jessie The Jeep
How many variations were there of the Sherman Tank chassis?? I know of the basic Sherman which had various armament in the turret, but there were also several other variants like the.... Bulldozer Shermans Flail Mine Clearer DD Floating Sherman Sherman BARV ( Beach Armoured Recovery Vehicle ) Forgive my ignorance if I'm showing my novice status here, but the M10 and Sexton also look Sherman based. Just how many variants were there??? Steve

sirhc
I think the Sexton is based on the Ram tank, which was very similar to the Sherman. There's also the Priest which was Sherman based. Then there are Ram and Priest Kangaroos built on the same chassis.

N.O.S.
The first Babe Magnet pic looks like some form of entrapment - see how the pretty lady has been shackled to the tank? Agricultural - plenty converted here and in USA/Canada. Hasn't John Marchant at Milton Keynes still got one This one is (? certainly was) owned by Robert Crawford, seen at a ploughing contest in 2000. Picture from a very interesting website - http://www.inter.nl.net looking at after uses of these tanks

Davie
Flamethrower: I think they were made by Ronson, which is a bit ironic as that was the nickname the soldiers gave to the Sherman

Jon8910
A late addition to this thread that may be of interest. The photo of Robert Crawfords Sherman Tractor in Hanno’s link above was taken and sent by me to his Sherman Register website in 2000. The ‘tractor’ made another rare appearance in October 2005 at the same event, (more pics below). I also have video of it ploughing at both events which I will try to add to the movie section.
