lowfat
Spent the day trying to get my stalwart winch working. I think its the Morris winch. Have new Hydraulic fluid and the pump engages. gearbox fluid is okay in the winch. I can disengage the clutch and move the drum by hand in and out. I can hear something when I try to wind in or out but the drum does not move. no obvious leaks and the control valve seems operate in sympathy to the winch lever. Any ideas anything obvious with these winches? John
antar
Have you tried pushing ( or pulling) the engagement lever / knob whilst operating the directional control spool, as the dog clutch for engagement may be tooth on tooth.
lowfat
Yes found that out about 1/2 way through the day. did think it was a eureka moment but unfortunately not. Is their a quil drive on the motor to winch drive or is purely protected by the pressure relief valves?
