ferrettkitt
Hi Rafal, Do you know the British Army registration if you do you can then apply to the Tank Museum for the history of the vehicle. For a fee / charge they will supply the history. Welcome to the forum
lasiu
I already have the documents of the Tank Museum and its registration is 01 CA 79 .The book " Ferret the FV700 series in British Army Service " by Pat Ware is his photograph in Aden / page 73 .But I am curious of what occasion placed the inscription / name to the vehicle because I like looking through photographs of various Ferret is not seen to have any subtitles. Catch 22 LBDR
Sir William Thorburn K.B.E., C.B., C.M.G., F.R.C.S was an English surgeon and pioneer in modern spinal surgery. At the time of his death he was Emeritus Professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Manchester. Not sure that this is the right William! Catch 22 LBDR
While searching for information on my ferret on various Facebook pages (12 Squadron Royal Engineers, and 2 Field Squadron RE) I talked to someone who told me that some ferrets were named after famous battles in WW1. Perhaps you could try searching Facebook for the units that your Ferret served with and post your question there.
Peter4456
Just a guess, but is William Thorburn a school with a CCF that had a Ferret as a Training Aid?!
