Certainly a project worth following! The pillbox (the one which is still dipped in concrete) in your blog seems to be the one displayed in the Overloon War museum. They have a costemtically restored Staghound as well (ex Belgium) and a separate Stag pillbox-hull like yours (the same one???)

If I remember correctly these were originally positioned around Eindhoven. There were quite a few RAMs and Shermans used as pillboxes in the Eastern parts of Holland, some of which survive.

Good luck and please keep us updated. There is a very nice restored Staghound here in Holland as well!

When I collect it I will try to ascertain where it originated from, I had heard it may have come from a museum so perhaps it is the one you are referring to.

It is coming back to the UK, I believe it will be the 6th one in the UK, half of which don't run yet.

I am looking forward to getting her home!

Ok, not much activity on this but I can report that I have cheated a bit, in fact I think I just got 7 years of my life back. Are far as I can work out at the moment, its the only vehicle heading home after a small auction. Just got to decide what to do with the other one now!

I was impressed enough with your first 'find' (albeit in absolute awe of someone willingly taking on such a restoration project !) .but the second one !!! ...Wow! I can see why you pulled the wallet out again ...where on earth did you find her? ...fantastic stuff! ...PS: ..whats your plans for the first one now then ???

Littlefield Auction. Good luck Jon, let me know when it gets back to the Midlands and I'll have to find an excuse to drop by again!

HI Jon

Good to see it back in the UK safely, the look of it sat in your workshop will make all the hassle worth it. The GMC is progressing, body painted and back on, all good.
