I am thinking of changing the carb on my MW to the later civilian one. Does anyone know the part no for the civilian version and does it give the improvement to mileage etc that people are saying. Lastly where can I get one and how much.

Martin,

Depending on what Carb you use you may find you need to change your intake manifold as the outlet will be 90 degree's out. My MW had a Zenith that i changed out to a Wartime spec Solex and had to change exhaust and intake manifolds as well. Not really sure you will see much of a saving if you do change?

I use a Solex RZFAIP carb with a zero-degree starter on my 28hp, its war/prewar. If its the same as the one you are about to remove I'll gladly buy it off you for a spare. :D

Give me a shout if you are up for it.

Alec.
