stinkypete618
A few questions about the hitch's. My Uaz has a Hitch on the back, but has been proven that the Russian style hitch interferes with a NATO ring, whilst reversing. Fine pulling but jams when pushing backwards, so much so bending the rear cross member. The Russian ring is more of a horse shoe shape than a circle. As Uaz / Gaz trailers are like rocking horse **** and expensive thinking about dropping hitch off and fitting a NATO hitch, to pull a sankey. So,, What is roughly the correct height of hitch for a sankey trailer? What is the bolting pattern dimensions? Thanks Pete
Suffolk Sankey
The bolt hole centres for the Land Rover type Dixon Bate pintle are 3 3/8 inches apart horizontally and 1 3/4 inches apart vertically. Mine is mounted about 24 inches from ground level, higher than a towball would be mounted. There is also a larger truck type pintle available with a different bolt hole pattern. stinkypete618
Great thank you, its so close! Vertically spot on, horizontal is off a bit, im at 4 inches across. Should be do able some how, height is close enough too. Not surprising really as Russians tend to copy lots of things. Thanks Pete
