  1. I bought a tin of smooth silver Hammerite a couple of weeks ago and it is definitely not water based, it has a high VOC label and the brush needs to be washed in hammerite solvent (or petrol ) I found the silver version much easier to apply than the black, which is like painting with treacle.
  2. The bolt hole centres for the Land Rover type Dixon Bate pintle are 3 3/8 inches apart horizontally and 1 3/4 inches apart vertically. Mine is mounted about 24 inches from ground level, higher than a towball would be mounted. There is also a larger truck type pintle available with a different bolt hole pattern. HTH
  3. Hello all, I have recently bought a Sankey Widetrack Mk2 trailer and I'm very pleased with it. I'm giving it a bit of a tidy up and service, the brakes are being re-lined and I've noticed a bit of play in one of the wheel bearings that I need to sort out. Other than that it is a solid beast, I've written to the RLC Museum to get its B card, I'm looking forward to finding out its history. All the best, John
