Have a look at around 4.15 in this one - it's our friend with the yellow URAL 6x6 again, he seems to have perfected the sand bank drop this time :D

Great to watch these big trucks. Supreme are the 8 wheel drive Tatra with their fully independent suspension. Aside from having confidence in the ability of a vehicle it's nerves of steel of the driver and navigator, in covering some of the challenges on these courses.

Here are the Dutchmen doing it - seem to be more civilian than ex-military trucks. Looks like some serious sponsorship to run these big modern 8x8s.

 

 

 

Do we have anything in the UK that compares to both this and the czech setups? (I'm aware of the various of-road trials run in the 80s using mainly Scammell Explorers and the like).

You've shown nothing there that any self respecting Explorer couldn't do with none of that ballet dancer 'up on the pointe' (Performing steps while on the tips of the toes) stuff, but with so much more inherent aplomb (In classical ballet, aplomb refers to the basic law of ballet – stability.) throughout...:coffee:

We had the Europa Truck Trials here in Britain in 2000. It was held at Slab Common in Borden but i can't remember anything as extreme as that, though i do remember a Gama Goat rolled over.
