thedawnpatrol
Hello Guys I'm just re wiring my Humber 4x4 personnel, according to the wiring diagram it only shows two wires coming from the Generator to the regulator box, but i had three originally, and there are 3 terminals on the Generator ? any answers ? I think this set up is standard on most British WW2 vehicles ? Their will be more questions i fear ! Jules

Richard Farrant
Hi Jules, You should have a CAV 75BT-19X control box fitted, the two cables from the dynamo to the box are D+ (dynamo positive), and F (Field). There is sometimes and earth wire from the dynamo body to the engine block. regards, Richard
Richard Farrant
I know they are different, was just asking about the 3 leads, is it the same? Also what type of Genny do you have? Plus most of the wiring should be similar, power to the Genny from the control board and the 3rd wire to a fuse/rectifier/relay switch The Scout Car charging system is totally different to the 4x4 Utility. lssah2025
I figured as much with the wiring, but thought they should be similar, 2 power and 1 ground etc.
Richard Farrant
i'll post some pictures later. Jules Jules, will be interested to see what your dynamo is like, cannot recollect three terminals on that type, but maybe it has been changed at some point. If you have a terminal marked with the Negative symbol, the minus sign, then that is earth and should go to a bolt on the block.
