question Can someone shed light on this?

I found this sitting outside the Museum of the Liberation of Jaffa whilst walking along the coast in Tel Aviv, Israel. I've got no idea what it is and can't find a maker's plate. There were the remains of a very small serial number plate on which only the number 5 is visible. Can anyone tell me what it is please? Sorry the photos are not great quaity Thanks. Darren

Could be a version of the home grown Davidka.

Thanks for the replies Adrian and Tony. It's in a sorry state now, largely due to the fact it is right next to the sea.

I missed this one ! no its not a British 4.2,looks more Soviet or Chinese to me ?
