Crate could be spares being despatched with the outfit. Paul Drake Posted August 15, 2011 Share Posted August 15, 2011 There is a website dedicated to old cinemas. I looked up Gaumont Theatre / Regal Cinema. (It says Gaumont Theatre on the canopy). Looked at some pictures and there it was. It was sadly demolished in the late 80s. There are also a few pictures on flickr, one of which I post here. mjstubley Posted August 16, 2011 Share Posted August 16, 2011 The same picture is in Pat Ware's Antar book, and given it is credited to the Thornycroft Society, they will have some pretty detailed info about it The caption next to the photo is quite detailed as follows:- "In late March 1950 the first Antar tractor hauled the machinery semi trailer to one of the London ports, probably Tilbury, where it was subsequently shipped to the Lebanon. Clearly it caused considerable excitement as it travelled through the London suburbs, and here the loaded trailer, together with its police escort, is about to turn from the A10 onto the A406 North Circular Road in Edmonton, North London.
