Wiggy
I'm replacing the front wheel cylinders & brake shoes (thankyou Mr Morter & Mr Gaine). Just a thought on fluid, do I need anything special or will regular Dot 3 do. Thanks Adam
Tony B
Dot 3 or 4 not , say agin NOT synthetic Dot 5. Has nasty effects on rubber. Pressure bleeder makes life so much simpler.
Wiggy
Thankyou, if I bleed the whole system is it the normal thing of starting with the cylinder furthest away from the master cylinder?
Tony B
Yes, usual procedure. What ate is the master in? I'd fit new flexis as a matter of course, the new cylinders will alter the presure and could cause problems. A Gunson pressure bleed is about £15, God's gift. For the Dodge plumbing fits adapted. I don't know what the cap of an MW master is like.
The Bedford Boys
Make VERY SURE that the bypass hole in the master cylinder is clear. It is the size of a pin hole, but can be a massive pain in the ass. Also check that the vent hole in the side of the filler plug is clear.
