robin craig Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Ladies and Gentlemen, Before anyone shoots off a "not a problem" reply, bear in mind we are in Canada. There is virtually nothing Land Rover parts related out here. Our 1987 90 has a sick injection pump, the gearbox has lost syncro in 1st and 2nd. It leaks diesel like a garden hose and gear changes are crunchy at best. Like all 2.5 na diesels it was never a speed demon. What should our game plan be to freshen the vehicle up and make it useable again? Who should we consider buying parts from direct from UK? It is a clean tidy truck otherwise and we would like to keep originality and not drop a TDI into it. R Quote
sas pinkie Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Personally, with you being abroad, I would stick to the big boys, Try Blanchards. More expensive then most, but quick to reply and very helpful. Also , try John Craddocks. They have a breakers dept. Quote
robin craig Posted March 16, 2011 Author Posted March 16, 2011 Thanks for that, I will give them a call and see what turns up. R Quote
robin craig Posted March 7, 2012 Author Posted March 7, 2012 Too close this thread here, we have elected to rebuild both the engine and gearbox locally with parts sourced from the UK by us. I will set up a new thread on what and how we do it. Thanks for your responses to my questions. R Quote
