0 rippo Posted September 2, 2010 Share Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) Hello, The can is the same as the british petrol jerry can but with water stamped into the side, and painted tan, post war they were painted black you see them on champs. 2 Gallon cans were also used for water with pow (petrol or water) painted on. 0 woa2 Posted September 2, 2010 Share Posted September 2, 2010 Water Jerrycans had WATER embossed on the sides, those for petrol didn't. The 2 gallon cans were completely plain for Water but painted White with a black stripe or Black with a White stripe - Those for petrol had 'Petroleum spirit' and a date on the top.
