Driving along the M4 on Monday of this week, I noted three new Iveco trucks, and what appeared to be a new Foden recovery truck. It was a quick glance, but it did look like the Foden badge on the front. Any ideas on this?

The army are going over to MAN for pretty much everything..... maybe you saw a foreign contingent in the UK for SPTA fun???? Dunno. Some wrecker Fodens still in service I think.

Hmm...I thought I glanced a Foden badge, it was a new unit so probably not. Yesterday on the way home I overtook a magnificent army Foden towing a trailer with a CVRT aboard. No idea where I would put one even if I could afford it!!

What I should have said was....I thought Foden trucks were not now being used by the Army.

FODEN Recovery will be used for a bit yet. FODEN DROPS still in service probably a bit longer than Recovery.

Did the Foden Wrecker have an underslung lift and NO crane? If it was without it's crane then this might be the wrecker the Atomic Weapons Establishment use.

Foden trucks are staying in service for a bit longer, ours has just undergone a refurb as our unit won't be getting the MAN SVR for quite sometime, (Training unit run by civvi's),

Iveco have come into play big style, 8 wheeler tipper with terex crane behind the cab to replace the FL12, and a 6 wheeler flatbed with a Terex crane rear mounted, No British truck building industry anymore.:nut:
