kpu121265
I had a power failure (camera batteries, not one of the trucks) so unfortunately, only managed some of our troublshooters fleet (oh, and chap nicking one of the rear halfshafts from the slat - we were towing it back anyway as i was a driver down).... early british ww2
Thanks for the Photo Rippo!! - I will post some more pics up later once I get the old camera fired up . A very good event , Many thanks to Stuart and the gang at Ponderosa for making us all so welcome and will definitely be back next year , Hopefully with an even bigger selection of vehicles coming along for the event . On a different subject I met up with a chap at the event who owned a Jeep which was parked next to the very nice Dukw , Does anyone know this chap or indeed are you a member on here as I forgot to get your number - Please pm me with details cheers:coffee:
kpu121265
The chap with the jeep is called Chris (i'm pretty sure), the DUKW owner was Mark Hutson. I'm afraid i don't have contact details for Chris, but he is a member of Yorkshire MVT if that helps at all. Ken

happydayz123
AS one of the organiser's of the Ponderosa show, i'd like to thank all the staff for making us all feel welcome.Blessed with good weather & free pack lunches on both the saturday & sunday plus a large 40s dance inc food what more could you ask for.I'd also like to thank all the vehicle owner's & living history groups, who turned up to support the show cheer's guy's & girls. Most of all the real heroes of the show were the three WW2 veterans. As i believe stated recently by John Blackman "where have all the British WW2 vehicle's gone" well Ponderosa fielded 29 British vehicles plus 6 artillery piece's. I personly gained a good number of new friends who have already pledged their support for next year's show so ROLL ON 2011. cheer's Stu
rippo
I've had this email forwarded to me from stuart. This all started with a phone call from richard farrant, the son of the veteran wanted to get his father and a 25pdr together again for his birthday. Thanks to richard and the ponderosa i think we made his day  . Hi Stuart Just wanted to drop you a line to say that yourself, Howard, Kath and the rest of the team, made Sunday July 11 an absolute fantastic memorable day for my Father and our Vera. Your overwhelming warmth, generosity and personal touches were very much appreciated by the both of them along with our family members. The nostalgia of the music, song and dance and the authentic militaryness of it all seemed to have re-awoken those lost six years of his youth when the meaning of a great day out was making it to bedtime with your heart still beating. He rang me Monday night bristling with excitement and bent my ear for over thirty minutes thanking every man and his dog for what they had done especially making him guest of honour with his executive lunch and the presentation of his very apt cake. Many, many thanks again to you all and to your connections who started the ball rolling for me from that phone call in Kent just a couple of weeks ago. A truly impressive effort. He finally got his five minutes of fame. Edited July 14, 2010 by rippo

Hi John, That all came together well, when the chap called me about the request, you were my first thought, being in his locality, and the event timing could not have been better. Great to hear the gentleman enjoyed his day out. regards, Richard
