Lewis Garner Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Hi all, We were told this was 20-50 engine oil. Can anyone confirm this? Best regards, Lewis Quote
fv1609 Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 (edited) Stencilling looks a bit amateurish! It should have a MOD classification & a NATO one. http://www.hmvf.co.uk/pdf/POLcompact.pdf Edited May 14, 2010 by fv1609 Quote
Richard Farrant Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Hi all, We were told this was 20-50 engine oil. Can anyone confirm this? Lewis, This is what is known as a Reference oil, for development testing of engines in laboratories and test beds. Not for vehicle use! The stencil marking is a bit smudged, but it lines up with ER-9, which was actaully a 10W/30 grade. Quote
Lewis Garner Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 Hi chaps, Thanks very much for that. I would hazard a guess it's a heavier weight than 10W but you could well be right. It was definitely worth asking on here before any damage was done, so thanks again. Regards, Lewis Quote
