Ivor Ramsden
A Series 1 Land-Rover has an Anti-Aircraft Command sign on one side and a white number 380 on a RA red/blue square on the other. Does aybody know what unit used this number? It was probably applied in the late 50s. Is there a good reference for post-war AoS marks anywhere? Tony B
Are you sure it was AA Command, the bow with hand and arrow? Reason I'm asking is I thought they'd cease to exist shortly after W2.
Richard Farrant
Are you sure it was AA Command, the bow with hand and arrow? Reason I'm asking is I thought they'd cease to exist shortly after W2. AA Command carried on until 1955, .......that would match in with a L/R Series 1. Tony B
Would be an early one then. What's the chassis number?
Ivor Ramsden
It's fairly early, a 1949 vehicle.

Tony B
Markings are dead right. That is a very juciy bit of kit. What sort of work does she need?
Ivor Ramsden
It's not mine, so I don't know. It belongs to a guy on the land Rover Series 1 Club Forum. I'm very jealous of it. I'll just stick with my ex-RAF 80 for now ...
Tony B
Rear Chasis member is wrong, but they rot out for a passtime. Don't tell me where it is. The temptation to quietly hitch the trailer one night........ :cool2:
REME 245
If you are a member of the MVT there have been a number of articles in recent years in Windscreen detailing the identity of post war tac sign numbers. Being AA Command it may well be a TA Unit.
