What Regs Would Apply

Question

Hers a question that came up in a conversation recently.

What regulations apply to vehicles being used as sightseeing tour vehicles?

I have seen DUKW`s in use around Liverpool and Cumbria Classic Coaches around here. With the number of seats they have they would be classed as PSV's I guess, but what would a Jeep or other similar sized vehicle come under with only 3 or 4 passengers?

What would that entail,

seat belts, roll bars + any other equipment?

In Ambleside there is a converted electric milk float carrying people from the lake to the town, I seem to get stuck behind it most days! There are also a couple of custom trikes doing tours in the area. So perhaps rewording the question slightly,

Would it be feasable to use a jeep size vehicle to do tours of an area?

A flaming nightmare is the answer. Depends on age, seats , use. The Master's of all fate in this matter would be the Transport Commisioners.
