  2. I always felt that the COMMER Q4 got a bad reputation for no good reason. Pleased the BEAST is still in good hands the tank has done well to last as long kind regards wally

  6. the ideal solution would be to have a building that you could keep at a relative humidity of between 40% to 50% but at what cost
  7. the trouble with the 44 chilwell allocation list it only gives part of the story not the whole picture
  8. mick there are two plans one which l have posted which is dark in colour and a out line one it's funny l have a very few engineers equipment drawings these are some of the smaller size plans at 60 x42 cm
  9. lf you are after the contract ledgers and not vehicle histories then the RLC have very little
  10. MICK I recall seeing some drawings on BLAW KNOX but what they where for l will have to look through the drawings and let you know WALLY
  11. DZ is from 1961/62 and the RE MUSEUM should have the 419B service history card
  12. There is a small piece in Bart Vanderveen's kaleidoscope of BEDFORD & VAUXHALL MILITARY VEHICLES on this l would have posted it but waiting for a new scanner
  13. 12 panel light switch 14stop light switch 10 temp gauge water 11 amps gauge
  14. Air flow is important but it is a round the vehicle if the vehicle is covered with a tarp it only makes the condensation worse because there is no air space l spent many hours learning about the problem of condensation on inside surfaces you want to see this in large aircraft wings that are parked out side for years
  15. Having had a bit of experience of this problem with vehicles in long term storage in far from ideal conditions .At one time eighteen in the reserve collection and cost been a major consideration and safety SILICA GEL bags were used no it did not solve the problem totally but did reduce the effects . The only real solution is a under cover building and controlled humidity but not many of us can go that far at best try to help the flow of air
  16. DAVID that is indeed sad news l got to know BILL first when we met and found that we had a connection with DALMUIR he with the CONQUEROR when he worked there and later when he became involved with the K&WVR and the need they had for railway plans and information to help with the restoration of rail equipment that was housed at BEVERLEY WALLY
  17. The chieftain that was at ELVINGTON was a prototype the end user was to be in the middle east
  18. when you say data plate do you mean a ministry of supply data plate with a post war number ie OO RA 27 or a contract plate ?
  19. you are asking a question that dozens of owners of wartime built vehicles ask and sadly the honest answer to it is no you might get a bit more from the data plate but even so it will be not much
  20. BRYAN as some one else on the FORUM found out he was told that they did not have the records for his vehicle in his case But after he then got back in touch they found the information l have no faith in the RLC MUSEUM because they cannot think out side the box unless it is on the computers they just stop
