  1. l do not think l will watch any more the first put me right off but it's made for the general members of the public like many of these programs enjoyed the vehicles nice to see them
  2. To put afoot note the auctioneers who were asked to sell the models only wanted to break the models up and sell individually which was not how l wanted. Today l found out that these waterline models were made by BASSETT-LOWKE and one alone is worth two thirds of the reserve price so now l will keep them
  3. out of interest in the whole AM series there were only eight ROVER 3.5 LISTED
  4. 10 FM 68 while l see your point l have spent half my life collecting these things and some of what l have saved has been of value to others in getting the history of their vehicles and getting them registered may be you if you have used the RLC MUSEUM VEHICLE RECORDS Any one that has asked for information that l hold has been given it at no cost to them and freely. But l now know what to do with my collection
  5. Just a few more included in the new box but not shown are a load of the RASC JOURNAL's and a number of key cards no2 in the XB AND XJ Series

  8. What you see in the picture is the complete wheel rim without the hub cap fitted you undo the wheel nuts by working round the center bar through the hole the bar is part of the wheel rim the hub cap is attached by a screw fitting fixed to the center of the hub cap in the center of the bar is threaded to hold it in place the picture you show is made for the fitting of hub caps
  9. A number of BRITISH car manufacturers pre war used this method of attaching hub cap to the wheels
  10. 73 BP 86 is from a large contract number 6/V/16223 for land rovers numbers 60 BP 37 T0 74 BP 62 IN THE BATCH
  11. Driven by Paul Cartwright of the NLBA if l remember rightly
  12. the two land rovers in the 36 BD 26 AND 36 BD 41 SERIES came from the batch of mark 2,s allocated numbers 36 BD 05 TO 38 BD 04 contract number 6/v7008 and would expect them to be deep bronze green the navy ones in blue
  13. I think the land rover would have the number 13 RN 08 as by 1950 the new system of numbering military vehicles was in place and landrovers in any number in service would come after 1949
  14. THE halftrack in question is from the batch of Internationals 34 YT 61 TO 40 YT 70 By the way the land rover is a mark2 from contract 6/V7711 and from the allocated series 00 BH 01 to 19 BH OO for mark 2 land rovers
  15. At the request of a ferret owner l put L R one shot in the hubs and bevel boxes l have to admit l was not to sure. After a while it came in because a bad leak from the inner hub when it was stripped out which is a really mess to do very little had gone in to the the inner bevel despite all levels been checked when filled with the one shot several times to allow for it to find its own level as with oil l am still not convinced that for the inner it is a good idea
  16. it was sent to the REME FORDING TRIALS UNIT BASED AT FREMINGTON also the second phase of stalwarts were given the numbers 33 56 63 66 AND so on without a prefix letter later ones numbers from the SP series
  17. YOU are correct the information is hand written and bad to make out should know better MEMO to self put your reading glasses on

  20. The north east military vehicle club produce a good club magazine which l get sent now and again
  21. l think you have every right to be angry at the lack of workmanship and attention to detail and all any one can say has been said l would be ashamed if that had left my workshop
  22. Vehicles used as targets do not appear as cast there where two catalogues for this disposal the one shown shows 815 MKs and the supplementary catalogue shows more
  23. Clive its not as good as the mod sales catalogues in the fact it does not show the ERMs but does show the year in service date also on the question of cranes fitted the HIAB SPEED LOADER 500 was fitted l have just looked in my file box as l was involved and found among the items a JB MODEL OF THE MK still in the box which was sent to me by the model company JB MODELS
  24. You asked when the MKs left service the answer was the mid 1990s and by 2000 most if not all had gone the last up date on documents was 2009 and that did not include MKs only MJs
  25. well after investing that amount of money l do not think l would be hanging around if it is as bad as that l would be doing more than asking for advice . l known there are cowboys out there and l have met some of them l would not trust to work on a wheel barrow the one used on building sites. And like others l could list them
