  11. I m thinking if you were to construct a rear bash bar or some kind of defence barrier that you could remove when parked at a display or rally that could give you a bit more piece of mind from joe public meeting up with you by accident as well as save the tires from damage caused by those annoying road fleas . Look's to become a great restoration !

True many are the tails of sadness from many manufactures the Autolites and the AC Delconites lest us forget the Morparites this curse spreads where ever the devil of the electron is needed to flow, but now there is a drought with barely a trickel whence there flowed a mighty stream to give ones chariot the strength and speed of the very God's themselves !!!

So now who shall it be to compose simular words of great wisdom and mighty meaning to the many who still toil in the grease pits of the Great Garage from comeith the gnashing of broken asunder gears of the sad stories of the Prince of darkness and Lucas be his name and his many followers who struggle with his cursed electrics .
  18. not shown over here, thanks for the link!
  19. Thank you for finding and posting this site . it bring the story to a much better over view than the diagrams in the book . it should be remembered that the aircraft which went missing April 4, 1943 was not found until August 1958 and that the last two crew found were not located until February 11,1960
  20. If you read the book you will get all the details of the trek the crew tried to make to save them selves but it was just to far in the wrong direction they went north towards the coast .If they had gone SW it would have been 130 miles to El Gezira Oasis 35 miles of which were sand dunes , while going north it was between 201 to 218 miles to the nearest Oasis's , Sgt Ripslinger walked roughly 80 miles before he died then Sgt Shelly walked on another 7 miles or so before he died since this is the locations of their bodies while enduring 130 f day time temps and freezing cold at night . Sgt Moore would have had to walk 80 miles further of which 60 miles were dunes to reach Gialo Oasis.< these are the figures in the book I know they dont add up > with no food, water, or shelter . their escape map covered only the area 320 miles from the coast they parachuted almost 440 miles south of the coast.
  21. I meant to say that all the others except him had been found sorry for the confusion .yes the book includes the entries from the diary written by Sgt. Ripslinger , as well as photo's of the crash site of the markers left by the crew , maps of the area and of the crew.
  22. I believe that all but one of the crewmen Vernon L. Moore - gunner who's remains have never been recovered , are thought to be buried by huge shifting sanddune's in an area some distance north of the crash site of the LBG . the ISBN 0-8306-8624-x of the Book "The Lady Be Good " published by Aero copyright 1962 Epilogue 1982 written by Dennis E. McClendon
