Just while we are jocking, lets remember that the Liberation was from five years of armed occupation. In the winter of 1944/45 both Island's civillian population was starving. Only the intervation of the International Red Cross, with the ship SS Vega, also the seventyth anniversary, saved many lives. Also British civillians from the Island's died in Concentration canps. Mash and I will argue tooth and nail, that's only proper! But the Commerations mean a lot to many people in the Islands, and keep it alive for the youngsters.

A few years back I used ordinary black bitumen metal roof paint , cheapest in the builders merchants, cut with Parrafin and sprayed on with a parrafin wash gun. Still solid on the vehicles and no rust! Total cost about £15 .
