  1. Just don't hit the front brake to hard! :nut: Mind you if some ***** pulls across the front of you.
  2. Welcome Ron. There will be more than enough suggestions as to which vehicle to have around here.
  3. You can never have enough Dodges you know. :-D
  4. Can you see something like that now? Elf ad Aftey would be have fits over sharp edges and 'Hard Surfaces' , not to metion the lead based paint. Far better to have it running.
  5. UM? As an aside, the Scandanavian 'Model' is always toted as the way UK should go.
  6. Great fun! Funny to see people smiling as the traffic is held up.
  7. Congestion charge, definitly. LEZ depends on what is on the log book, fuel used (Petrol or Disieil) and what ever bills TfL have to pay on cross rail. Some of the descions are bizzare. If petrol, shouldn't be a problem. There are a lot of Petrol Land Rovers running about whilst the same disiel version is ok if the log book states Estate or station wagon but banned if it says Utility, and the diffrence is ?????? I live right on the edge of the zone near J3 of the M25, at Cudham a friend of mine can leave her property in her horse box , turn left and go where she please. If she turns right, she can go up the road about half a mile turn right, and has to stop. There is about two hundred yards of road inside the LEZ. As for Congestion Charge (Whilist in full steam) a few years back (Well ten now) at the 60th annivesary of VE/VJ day , aome of us were invited to take vehicles up to display on the Mall. All official etc. Every vehicle attending was charged congetion charge for the three days they were parked up on display!
  8. What makes you think you'll stand out around here Mike?:cool2: Grow old disgracefully!
  9. Don't know about the 300 in a Rangy, I know you can fit them to series 3 with a bit of twiddling. I had a Range Rover Classic with a 2.8 Isuzui disiel for about ten years. Broke my heart when the engine finally packed up with 250.000 miles on it that I knew of. Main problem was I roughed it and the axle breather went through the sump, didn't do it a lot of good.
  10. LEZ and Congestion charge will just love you! Welcome to the fight back. :-D
  11. Dear old MK's. Either steer or don't. I have a soft spot for the MK and TK, they were the trucks I learnt on.
  12. I'd use an alternator fitted with a vacum pump. The only extra effort is to feed oil to the pump. I used a T pice from the oil pressure gauge switch then fed it back through the rocker shaft cover. Worked fine for many moons on an old IIa Landy fitted with a BMC disiel. One problem. The vacum the pump generated. The brakes became think stop and scrape yourself off the windscreen.
  13. Stick an Isuzu diseil in it! You'll have all the comfort of the Rangey and it will go like the clappers , ecomicaly, compared to the 3.9! :-D
  14. I take the German translates as 'Oh dear, that was a silly thing to happen'. Defintiltly know what the English meant.
  15. That's why we don't own them. We keep them for the next generation. They belong to those who built them and served with them.
  16. Why not? Still throw a shell six miles, no computers to go wrong easy to operate.
  17. Just been announced Ukraine are about to get seventy five or so SAXON's. (What do we send to them we don't like!)
