  1. Almost as good as the ones you can build from an old Drival.
  2. It's width and weight are the problem. Your pushing the edge of weight. It may come down to remove spare wheel etc.
  3. Just done one actually. One of the Dodge sidelights went dead open cicuit. The result melted in all the plastic insulator on the bulb holder. So I was left with the casing , inside was the right angle holder for the bulb fitting. I happned to have a couple of LED bulbs. They are one pole as opposed to two pole of the filament. So how to quickly get something working. First - Solder a wire to the + point of the bulb. Diodes are polarity sensitive, there DIODES! Second - Solder wire to side of bulb. Third - Wrap whole thing in insulating tape to prevent short and also bring diameter up to the diameter of the hole in the right angle. Fourth- Force tape wrapped bulb into hole, add super glue to edge to fix. Then wire on. The result in a tremendous improvment on the old filament. As an added bling I glued reflective tape round the inside of the lamp. I've also aquired two strips of LED diodes. These have been fitted by lossening the support bar of the front wings and slipping a couple of cable ties through. The strips are flat againgst the support and hidden. I have wired them into the sidelights. The result is in daylight you see nothing. When it gets dark, the strips light up the whole wheel well. No doubt of the width of the vehicle.
  4. Welcome Richard. That's quite a project you have on.
  5. Yes that's the type. It was being towed by a Transit van.
  6. I've seen recently a couple of high bed three axles trailer. Two at rear and an articulated nose like yours. Anyone know if a low loading type is available? I want to find one I can put a WC54 on, tow with the Disco, or a 90 and fit the whole lot on a ferry.
  7. You'll be in good company. I do envy the model making skills of people on the forum.
  8. Unfortunatley the bank said £$%^****&^%$£ NO! :-(
  9. I was talking to the RE group at Chatham a while back, as I was thinking about buying one. There advice 'If you can get it going a great tool, until you shut down again'. :-D
  10. Welcome David, if your looking for a cure, wrong place mate!
  11. Don't think I'll bother with the proggramme any more. The current series is plumbing new depths of childish stupidity.
  12. Does anyone think those Muppets were really doing anything with the vehicles? Even by the proggrammes own low standards, they seem to be getting worse.
  13. I did get asked by a young boy at Chatham after a very succesful 'Punch up' with an 'escaped' German Paratropper, 'Why do you hate the German's?' Sometimes when your asked for a quick answer you speack the truth, even to yourself. The answer I gave, 'I don't hate the German's, but I hate what some of them did'.
  14. It really is, if you worry about such things you shouldn't be in the hobby. The US manuals for all WW2 vehicles quotes 8 miles per gallon, bear in mind a US gallon is smaller.
  15. Welcome in Dave. Pinzaguer are a remarkable vehicle.
  16. I use an American vehicle for my re-enactments! Because, if you've driven the British vehicles of the time, you know why Hey hey USA! :-D
  17. It has an urban warfare role. It IS possible to get a 'tank' on the average semi detached lawn.
  18. Some of us do Brtish re-enactment! Mind you it would look daft me being an infantryman, so I dress up as RASC.
  19. Thanks John. This subject is always a good excuse for blow out round the camp fire. :-D
  20. Avoid any abrasive. Ambersel Foam Cleaner is useful stuff.
  21. Yes, at least they haven't started on the Naplionic wars...yet....( Mind you France was a freind of the American Colonists, they saw a profit in it) Do remember up to about 1900 it was France that was looked upon as UK's major enemy. It was only when the then new country of Germany started getting above it's station (Threatening profits!) that they became the 'enemy'.
