    Not the best of ideas! We tried that with Number One Son when he was about seven. Worked beautifully till he decided to play Tarzan! Took about half an hour and a large pair of cutters to get him out! :-D Also a complete %$£**&&& for catching dust spider webbs and any other airborne c***

    Not pristine! But the Champ is really a working vehicle, so what? I'd rather my vehicles look a bit worn, proves they still work for a living. As a kid there were two champs used to push and pull a mobile landing stage for ski boats. We used to fight for the chance to drive them ten feet or so as the tide changed. Por old beasts melted in the end.

    Check your lift pump is getting enough fuel up to the carb. If you have a manual lift on it try that.

    Thanks Ian all help gratfully recived. The saw belonged to an old friend, now desceased so I like using it as it reminds me of John.

    Yes new plug and everything fires up if you pour fuel stright into the carb.

    I've got an old Huscavana chain saw which for sentimental reasons I want to get working. The problem is though everything functions when I pull the engine the fuel goes back down the pipe! The carb has been rebuilt byTillitson and all new seals have been fitted. Now I have used a pice of non Huscu fuel pipe, so I'm wondering A is the fuel pipe to big a bore, though it fits the carb intake, or B Does the fuel tank need to be sealed tight, if so could air leacking in at the tank /pipe gasket cause the problem? Your's Clueless.l
