  1. Not if the vehicle is pre 1960 as already stated.
  2. Green flag happily cover my 1944 Dodge.
  3. My old Artic 109 FFR had rolls of canvas permenatly fixed over each wheel, the windscreen and the rear door. That was a hardtop version.
  4. There was an episode of Salvage Hunter on Quest last night, I'm sure there was one of these mouldering away in some horaders yard. Only got a quick glimpse though.
  5. Welcome, a thousand odd size 10's available here. Though if the kids want........ You are duty bound for them to get practical experience.
  6. Welcome Troy. Nice to see the vehicles still working.
  7. :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Might have been able to keep it intact as of special historic intrest!!!! :angry:angry:angry
  8. Hang on! Our Southern Hemisphere cousins are coming into winter now. I heard there was a Weather Bomb over Auckland over the weekend.
  9. That then is a rare and tresured thing. If you could post a picture? :flowers:
  10. I was told on joining 'The Purpose of Her Majesty's Royal Navy is to carry Britian's Nuclear Detterent'.
  11. The 'Automatic' Revlover? That 's an unusal pice. Are you sure it's .38 though? The rule was private purchase but must chamber .455. Although a number of private weapons were used. Mostly odd large calibre rifles such as .600 Nitro Express, to penetrate sniper shields.
  12. And a very warm welcome to the forum. You can never have enough Dodges in one place. Pictures are always appreciated, drooled over, commented on, subject to fits of jealousy etc.
  13. The Auto .455 was actualy .456 semi rimmed round. It was also a much hotter load than the revolver round, and mixing the two could get exciting! (Graham, bet you wished you'd never asked. )

  15. The cartridge used to propel grenades was filled with Ballisite http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballistite This is a lot faster than the Mk6 Cordite cartridge, and led to burst barrels. If you look carefully at some period pictures you will see barrels bound with copper signal wire or even string to prevent burst. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cordite
  16. Had an Enfeild dated 1923, sold it as it didn't really fit my kit. Though the De Ac showed a Webley with the number being correct. CHECK CAREFULLY! Can't see the .455 Mk6 cartridge working in a semi auto thoiugh. I'd suggest that was the Webley Self Loader cartridge, semi rimmed.
  17. Do add the Libyian Goverment were very quick to apologise and condem the actions. We have our own A888 over here, as the desecration of war meorials shows.
  18. The obvious for the rev counter is- 'You have put the right wire in the right place?'
  19. Colt did make guns for UK. The Colt New Service M1917 in .455 were supplied to UK during 1915/16. It was also used in .45 along with Smith & Wesson by US forces, though the Colt M1911 .45 cal Auto was standard issue.
  20. The bug*r is that the rev counter is completly seperate from the other gauges. From that I'd suspect there must a jnction box wher the wires meet. That's where I'd look for the problem. I'd suggest the 184/181 location. It is the only place that a join shows close and is feeding positive voltages.
  21. Funny enough a couple of G wagens came back from the Falklands. Same thing, when spares were tried for Merc did a war dance, they hadn't been paid!
  22. Streetview shows my 101 ambulance outside. That was sold a fair while ago. The whole system is a mismatch of times.
