  1. That's what I'm worried about mate! Whose going up the wire to check? Remeber the Dad's Army episode? By the by there was a TAF airfeild nearby wasn't there? I read a tale somwhere that RAF Erck's were used to walk ballons about tied to thier waists. One day the wind blew and the poor guy did three counties.
  2. Now they are one BIG military toy! There is one at Overloon, about six of us to get around one wheel.
  3. As an RTR guy said to me 'Why carry a weapon when the weapon can carry you?'
  4. You could then try freeze sparay, then wrap a cloth soacked in release agent of your choice wrapped around the sender and covered in cling film. I've done this and left parts overnight with very good results.
  5. Worth the effort. That is some collection of hardware in the parade.
  6. The freezing sprays work well on things like that, get the engine warm then spray the bsae of the sender.
  7. No. I took Katy down the evening before. Just because of such a problem. They were very helpful. Bear in mind there can be 3,000 odd people turning up.
  8. Welcome, not unusual to miss a Haflinger, they are small enough to put in your pocket. Remarkable little machine, Steyr Puch designed the 4x4 system for the original Fiat Panda 4x4, a Haflinger turned around.
  9. Just when you lot thought it was safe! :cool2:
  10. I was towing a 25 pounder with a large warning triangle and the light board suspended from the muzzle brake. Some numpty was so engrosssed in thier mobile phone conversation they still managed to nearly get the barrel through the windscreen. Damp patch bettween drivers legs, Pricless!
  11. Insurance is tricky. The rules were relaxed some years ago to encourage car sharing, by allowing passengers to make a 'contribution'. The whole thing is a ball of Fluff anyway. classroom based no exam turn up pay exorbitant fee get blue card.
  12. Molasses is higly recommended by some on the Forum. Trouble is in UK getting it in large amounts. Though if you have small parts may well work very well.
  13. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Supply The vehicles I knew were a pair of Bedford RS (Disiel engined 4x4 RL) dated 1957, they were supplied for range test vehicles, subsequently parked up for sonar testing. As for non military , military projects, the very obvious one was the A Bomb, most work was done by 'Civillian reserchers'. For some reason the letters SVL come to mind in the registartion.
  14. If the original wiring is still in place. Which way is the coil wired? That's the clincher as far as I know.
