  1. Have you checked youtube Mr Cubed? Lots of footage of a certain GMC and gun trundling through St Peter Port, I think you're famous! Can I have your autograph?
  2. That one very pretty Dodge you have there Gordon
  3. Supreme, Just checked, 79 BHP for the T202 engine with 201 cu in. Can only see it listed in one book currently
  4. I used to work for AMEC, the construction group who swallowed up Press. I was talking to one of their former engineers who told me back in the sixties they had a number of US half tracks for pipeline work!
  5. Good call Baz, drivers side yes, passenger side no!
  6. I've learned something helping rcubed during this project. I am really glad Chevy 1 1/2 tonners have closed cabs, because open cabs are a bl##dy nightmare!!! :banghead: :angry A bit more work tomorrow evening and this Saturday, and I think we'll have it ready for Guernsey. Maybe. :drive:
  7. Richard, will she coming to Horndean, at the end of May?
  8. Hi Wayne, sorry for delay, one orange, one red, £5 each. Used, but believed to be in good condition Cheers
  9. Paul, is the hydrovac still there, but just needs rebuilding? Personally, I would keep the hydrovac, brakes will be more effective and they're not too bad to rebuild. Plus, (Heaven forbid) you should have a serious accident, the authorities will be less than pleased if they discover part of the braking system has been left out! Rex Ward may be able to help with wheel cylinders, its fairly easy to get brake shoes relined, and as you mention Past Parts, they resleeved my master cylinder

    Ariel WNG

Hi Adam, nice bike, the WNG. I don't know much specically about Ariels (I'm a Triumph man, through and through), but may be worth checking the standard stuff, such as; Ensure no play in girder forks (if there is some play, I know a great guy in Sussex who rebuilds them), ensure wheel bearings are good, check for good cylinder compression, make sure front and rear wheels are in line (to ensure the frame isn't banana shaped), get her up to running temperature then shut her off, and make sure she restarts ok. Just a few ideas, there are plenty of WW2 iron fans on this forum who know far more than me who may suggest a few more. Dont forget, it might look good in photos, but still check it through thoroughly, some people are good at disguising horror stories! Good luck with it, hope shes a nice one
  11. Suggest you PM 'rcubed' on this forum, he may be able to help
  12. I can't, rcubed is in need, GMC s are very demanding!
  13. I think you're right there Adrian, quite a few alleged ww2 jeeps with a particularly high percentage of French parts, but perhaps also partly because of the increase in jeep value, more are being restored that perhaps would only have been used for parts donor vehicles before
  14. Good question NOS, isnt there more Pink Panther Land Rovers now than were actually built?
  15. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
  16. Its strange the things I lay awake at night worrying about............. Does anyone know roughly how many MBs and GPWs still exist worldwide? Restored, unrestored, whatever, any thoughts? I should be down the pub really
  17. Its not just armies that march on their stomachs, its GMC fixer-uppers as well! See you tomorrow Rosie
  18. Thanks to Baz and Co! One of the best events I think I have ever been to, thoroughly recommended to anyone who has'nt been before!

  22. Hi Suzi, strange co-incidence, but I have a friend here in Southampton also called Suzi, who also owns an M20! Welcome to the forum!!!
  23. Hi Richard, its going back a while and my memory isnt the best, but I think my old TRW was 05 EN 00, if that helps?
  24. Hiya Grasshopper, these things have a tendency of taking longer than planned ! My Triumph resto ended up taking 4 1/2 years!
