  1. Just a question. What olive drab are you using?. Who,s the suppliers?. From the pics it looks very close to the olive drab Tony Sudds used in the restoration of my Jeep back in 1989. The paint on mine was by Glasruits(spellings)
  2. I don't know if this is in the right section.maybe the mods can move it in due course. But has anyone caught the drama series Privates on BBC 1 in the afternoon??. All I can say what a contrived inaccurate load of tosh. Set in 1955 during national service it saw a series 2 Landrover amongst the vehicles. But this in accuracy can be over looked because whilst out on the parade ground mixed amongst the Bedford RL,s and Humber Pigs were a fleet of Defender Pulse ambulances. Wolf ,s and the new MAN truck. I kid you not. Anyone wanting to witness this historical carnage then turn on tomorrow afternoon at 1.40pm
  3. Accidents do happen. My one was a lot worse at headcorn this year. Some twat on the YouTube video even made a smug comment on there. I suppose he never had an accident in all his time he served.
  4. I had the same problem the last time I went to Damyns. I went off to the stalls to come back to a whole family sitting in the Jeep. Playing with the buttons and pushing the gear stick all over the place. I just lost my rag and told them to f**k off. The father started saying they thought they could jump in the vehicles. To which I replied. Where,s your car fella. When he asked why?. I said we'll you've jumped in my motor. Let me jump all over yours???. Fairs, fair. Him and his family soon left. I don't know what it is with that part of the world. But the people are a different breed altogether. It's a great show. But I would no longer attend for the problems incurred. You can't just walk away to see other displays or arena events without the fear of your vehicle being tampered with.
  5. Any links to the video Richard?.
  6. Maybe some of the long established members will remember. But did anyone do Ron and Rex,s Hell fire corner show about 20 years ago? Remember following them up some cliff top lanes in their Sherman.
  7. It will be a shame not returning to the Hop Farm. But the show must go on where ever it is. But I for one can't warrant the extra cost and extra slog of taking the Ferret there. I will give next year a miss as well just to see how things pan out. Just go for the day. I regularly do London to Folkstone and it can be tedious in a car let alone an old MV. But good luck to them hoe ever it turns out.
  8. I had a brand new steering box for my old 101 from MVS £175. And a brand new hood in the packaging at £120. Yep some good deals could be had.
  9. Sadly won't be able to go to that event a very busy weekend for me that one.
  10. Cracking shots. Nice to see a Lynx on skids again.
  11. Lost a little oil. But that's all. Fuel and water were unaffected. I did for a second think it was going to leak fuel as I will still trapped inside. But nothing. It was all ok.
  12. Will do mate.despite the drama,s I enjoyed the weekend more than Beltring. Note to self. Must make sure I get to the bar with you next time.
  13. Cheers fellas. And Dave. The reason as to why is because sooner or later I will have to find another garage for it. The current garage I will loose in the not to distant future as there are plans to build homes on the site it's on. I'm looking now so that when the time finally comes to go. I will have some where for it.
  14. As some of you may know who attended "Combined Ops" or read the thread, i had a bit of an unfortunate accident in the arena(I wont go in to details as its logged in the Ops thread) But we managed to come out of it largely unscathed after the Ferrets roll in the dirt. But it started off looking like this........ By 13.45 on saturday afternoon it was like this........ After the emergancy services and arena crew had done there bit. The Ferret was driven back to our area by Ferret Guru John Dews. Or the Ferretmiester as a i call him. Looking at it. I thought there was no way the front wing could be saved. It was all out of shape. It had been pushed down to the point it was touching the wheel. And as it hit the ground it had managed to push itself into the hull further loosing the shape there as well........ We continued with the show and on sunday afternoon it was driven back to the "Barn". Now anyone in the Ferret community knows this is where Ferrets are given the chance to breathe again and are given a re-birth. As i was getting ready to leave i still kept looking at the wing and said to John "It looks like it cant be saved"The reply came back in that now familiar northern tone "Leave it with me Mark It,s not a problem" And a problem it certainly wasn't,because yesterday afternoon i got the call to say all was done. And very impressed i was at the work carried out.... A big thanks to John (Ferretmiester) I'm now ready for the next show.
  15. I did phone John yesterday and was surprised to hear he was already underway with the repairs.
  16. The most important thing is that my other half and my daughter got out ok apart from some bruising to Lisa,s back. After a check up in hospital we went back to the show ground and continued with the rest of the show. All i can say on the incident is that i made a circuit first following a 432. I didn,t want to go around again as i was concerned for my youngest in there. When the roll over occured i was actually trying to head for the outer circuit, and from my postition in the Ferret didn,t see the scrape. From where i was sitting it just looked like a continous piece of grass. I got a warning from Lisa at the last moment to turn right and as i did one wheel was already on the edge. The banking gave way and in it rolled.Lisa and Taylor were saved from serious injury or worse due to the fact that the top hatched moved half way back and dug into the bank the other side. I would once again like to say thanks to the 432 driver behind who pulled Lisa and taylor clear and to all the EMS teams and marshalls for there very quick response. Thank you very much fella,s all of you. As for the Ferret its already in the work shop have the repairs carried out which are minor.... Apart from that we still had a great weekend with a great bunch of people. Roll on next year.
  17. It was more than a little on its side. but all ok.
  18. Well it must be some tripod. Because i have never seen a camera mounted on a tripod that could give a stabilised shot during a 180 degree swing???.Let me know where i can get those type of tripods from Nick.
  19. Just a question. But how is the camera mounted filming this. It seems as though it's on a gyro stabiliser.
