A play on words for the plains 2009
"A GMC Came Traveling"
A GMC came travelling on a road from afar,
'Twas light years of time since his journey did start,
And near a village he halted his truck,
And it lit up the sky like a star, just like a star...
He had followed a light and came down to a tent,
Where others were gathered seated in chairs,
A bright light shone for his truck that was there,
And he had the face of a driver, and they were afraid...
Then the stranger spoke, he said "Do not fear,
I come from a place a long way from here,
And I bring a message for all of you to hear,"
And suddenly the sweetest music filled the air...
And it went La La...
Peace and goodwill to all of you here...
This lovely sound of his truck went trembling through the ground,
And many were wakened on hearing that sound,
And travellers on the road, the camp they found,
By the light of that truck in the sky, which shone all round...
And just before dawn at the paling of the sky,
The stranger returned and said "Now I must eat,
When four hours of time has gone by,
This song will begin once again, to a GMC's roar..."
And it went La La ... This song will begin once again
To a GMC's roar...
And it goes La La... Peace and goodwill to all men, and
Where is the breakfast...
Oh the whole world is waiting, waiting to hear the song again,
There are thousands standing on the edge of the planes,
And a field kitchen is coming, the time is nearly here,
This song will begin once again, to a GMC's roar...
