  5. Could not have wished for better weather, most of the time it was hot Sun and no wind, it was a bit rainy when we got there on 27th May but cleared up in time for us to put the tents up, then the only other bit of rain was on Sunday 7th when it absolutely tipped down and then some spitting rain on Mon as we were packing up.
  6. As Rosie has posted on another thread here are the pics to carry on from that. First couple are at Etreham the MVT campsite.
  7. Well I have got it sorted out. This problem was on a Dodge WC52 on the bottom right corner as you look at the regulator mounted to the bulkhead, there was a noise suppression unit bolted to the case of the regulator which was earthed and connected to the field connection on the regulator and also to the field winding on the generator?? Well tested this out and found it to be shorted out, anyway after removing this and connecting the rest of the wiring up as it should be all was well. so watch out for those little buggers which give no sign of a problem to look at but don't actually do what they should !!!!!!!!!
  8. Hi all can I have some help, I have a Dodge WC52 and the generator does not charge the battery, if you push one of the relay coils it will start charging but if you then stop the engine and restart you are back to square one, no charge... Does anyone know what each of the coils do and how to adjust them to get the regulator to work and cut in and out. Please HELP...... MOT is on Friday.:sweat::sweat::sweat::sweat::sweat:

  14. Good point. To clear up this point if you enter your military vehicle, or you are a trader you get free entry to the show for all days. If you arrive on one of the show days as walking in public you have to pay. If you need more information go to http://www.solentoverlord.co.uk
  15. I am sorry to say the Committee has decided that due to several years of bad weather over the past shows and the country's current financial situation, they are to charge MVT / imps members the current public rate. I would just like to say in defence this is the first time they have charged MVT members for many many years.
  16. It's that time again, Overlord 2009 Dates 22nd to the 25th May 2009 Same place as usual at the Horndean Showground
  17. What are the new tyres you are fitting look really smart.
  18. Thanks for the pictures. So the hard part is splitting the rim off the main wheel, I see that there is a sleeve on the inside of the outer rim which is a tight fit over the main body of the wheel I suppose these to bits rust together and makes separating them very hard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how do you do it ??
  19. Don't drop the tools into the Vee otherwise they will be there till you take the plenum chamber out !!!! Good luck
  20. thanks will try various options as sugested above, like the idea of the tyre/wheel up in the air :shake: Any pics of the wheels in bits ? anyone.
  21. Hi all have just come in from trying to strip down some combat wheels like fitted to a Dodge, how do they come apart after first letting the air out and undoing all the nuts, what next as the rim plate does not budge one little bit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:argh: :argh:
  22. Well they are heavy I know that, they will last for ever and they use about 5 gallons of fuel if left on most of the day.
