  1. Without a doubt, Ursel is THE show of the year. The atmosphere is superb, a great mix of MVs and owners all having a whale of a time. Loads of stalls (without Beltring prices) and Tripel Karmeliet too ;¬) We've already booked our spot for next year's W&W
  2. A favourite one where I used to work was DGAF (usually just after getting a ticking-off). Answers on a postcard please...
  3. To all of you who came along: a big THANK YOU! :thankyou: And now a request ~ My camera has been playing silly buggers just lately and as a result I have no photos from this year's Garrison Bash. If any of you kind people could send me some photos I would be VERY grateful :redfaced:
  4. Yep, been to every one so far so wouldn't want to miss it this year :-)
  5. Just had someone apply for membership in our club who tells me he has an Indian. Not seen it yet though. We're in north Essex so perhaps there'll be an Indian in our group soon :-) Last time I visited Michel Clements in Elst he was working on a very nice Indian. Not sure of the model but it's the one with the engine in sideways (8- something? :dunno: ) ~ the proper way round!! :-D
  6. Wears me out just hearing about it :eek2: Good good! Our Mog is currently having a re-spray. We still haven't seen yours yet have we?
  7. Looks really good. Sand is THE colour for Airportables these days (right Ian? ;-) ) Are those new door-tops?
  8. Not ride IN, ride ON ;-) : took the Guzzi to Aldham
  9. Oh dear! Glad to say dear old Grisselda is a well-behaved old girl. She was my daily drive for over a year: through the winter ice and snow up the A14 every day to the office with no probs. Now she leads a quieter life ~ just MV shows and the like, but she's still a cutie :-D I guess you were unlucky... PS how's the Mog?
  10. No mate, the red one is RX 04 AHP, can't quite make-out the other one but I remember it was the same format, i.e. 2 letters then "04" then 3 letters. Don't know why you can't see the piccy though, it's on photobucket. Not using Bill Gates' explorer thingy are you? ;-)
  11. Not me  It's the day after Colchester, and we'll still be clearing-up. It's the old problem of too many shows and not enough weekends ;-) which is a shame because I haven't been to Duxford lately and the MV day was a good excuse to get in for free. Oh well...
  12. As the merkins thought in Vietnam... ;-)
  13. They don't break down do they? ;-) The Army are on hand all weekend and will be busy carting lots of our stuff around anyway (they prefer this to us mucking-up their grass :-) ) so I'm sure you'll be OK for a lift on the back of an Oshkosh low loader if the need arises. Give 'em a crate of beer and they're an extremely helpful bunch! I (and quite a few other East Anglians) will be on site from Friday morning putting up ropes etc. so give us a shout. Gareth
  14. Yeah, it's a fantastic ride. All the weight is low down, so you just swing it through corners. Fantastic sound too  This one's military spec, so it's got the dreaded shin-cracker (also known as a kick-starter).
  15. Well, I'll be there... (but you already knew that ;-) ) At the last count we had about 40 MVs booked in. But most of our club (East Anglian Fighting Vehicle Group) weren't counted in this figure coz they're all too lazy to fill-in the forms :afro: They WILL be there though  If any of you lot out there fancy coming along, it's not too late ~ just drop me a PM and I'll give you the secret password... Not much happening in here lately, so I thought I'd scan an old (i.e. before I had a digital camera) photo of me on the V50 and bung it up here so you can all have a giggle. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/HeidiLandRover/Heidiweb1.jpg[/img] Not quite sepia, I know. It was taken at Beltring in 2002 (I think) just after the ride-out. I seem to remember the whole place turning to mud the next day (some things never change, eh?)
  17. ...and it made me wonder... http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/HeidiLandRover/23-08-06_1716.jpg[/img] They're pretty new but have civvy numberplates. I was on my way to work so didn't have time to ask around. When I came past again the next day they'd gone. I know the picture quality's not brilliant but it was taken on the handy (so there  ) Anyway.... are Pinzies for sale to hoi polloi, or are these something special? Is the owner (owners) reading this? Come on now, spill the beans. Ooh - I want one! Pretty colours too :nut:
  18. I say old bean - what an absolutely spiffing read! And a little bit on the origins of "Khaki" too :-)
  19. Royal Dutch Army used the MAG, the FAL and the UZI (9mm?) definitely. All of these things belong on my CVV. I've PMed you. Gareth
  20. What's all this talk about "comfort"? You lot must've gone soft ;-)
  21. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/HeidiLandRover/Colchester07map.jpg[/img] This year's plan. I can e-mail a full-sized version to anyone if that's too hard to read ;-) As you can see (hopefully) the maniacs from Bold Dog will be there again this year, as will lots of traders, 500 re-enactors and a special Falklands vets area (with beer tent). Plans for the full line-up of tank transporters are still looking good at the moment, and we've got some stuff you won't see anywhere else 8-)
