  1. Heidi has a blue filter that fixes over the right-hand (kerbside) headlight for convoy driving. The last vehicle in a convoy would have a green'un. There is also a set of flags (blue, green & yellow) which fix to the bumper but I dont know when these are used instead of/aswell as the filters. Anyone?
  2. Yeah: good pics - and nice to have a little bit of personal history to go with 'em :-)
  3. Kewel! Nice to see it's a soft-top ;-) And that DAF is a beauty as well
  4. ...erm, is that some kind of code? :?
  5. ...and they carry 'kin great big kukris as well ;-)
  6. No, Gunpowder Mills is the following weekend (I hope :shake:)
  7. Yep ~ interested. The only problem could be the date, it's bound to clash with something. ;-)
  8. Last year's curry was a definite hit with just about everybody
  9. Yes Rob, and we'll be coming to the Gunpowder Mills bash too
  10. Nothing a can of Pledge won't sort..... oops, sorry: wrong forum! ;-)
  11. Hello! (from 1 new boy to another ;-) )
  12. I went to see Andy (VK) last year. He told me he didn't have much Mog stuff left, but lots of Pinzie bits. I did manage to buy a new door-top from him though. Nice chap, but not the only source of Mog spares in Belgium ;-)
  13. Well, I've been busy elsewhere....
  14. He he. I've also seen pictures of pink Spitfires ~ I think they were recce versions.
  15. If you know the code then any decent finishers will mix some up for you. Being European it'll probably be a RAL number. The place with the most in-depth knowledge is here --> http://www.unimog-community.de/index.php?newlang=eng How's your German? :-)
  16. Hello! No - we haven't been to look at it yet. Been meaning to ever since Phil told us about it but something else allways seems to get in the way. Perhaps you could post a picture of it in here (or would that be frowned upon, as it's not a mil spec Mog?) How's Phil getting along in his search for a new injun for the Daf? Will we be seeing you at Colchester Garrison this year?
  17. ...that's the name for this year's Army Open Day at Colchester. The date is 16 june. Last year we had about 50 ex-military vehicles on display, as well as the modern stuff courtesy of Her Majesty's crew. You can arrive on the Friday and camp overnight. There's camping for green and civvy tents/caravans etc. on the barracks. We're trying to organise a barbecue on either Friday or Saturday evening (after the publuc have disappeared). There will also be arena events, stalls and re-enactors. The venue is Abbey Field, Colchester. Themes for this year's show include The Falklands (25 years - can you believe it?) and tank transporters: we think we've got a line-up of every tank transported used by the British Army since the 40s (Diamond T to Oshkosh). All other vehicles are more than welcome of course. If you fancy bringing along a vehicle then drop me a line (PM) and I'll get an entry form sent out to you. Gareth :-)
  18. reminds me of the story about the American flyer who painted his Catalina pink. Lots of aviation "experts" thought this was a crime. One such "expert" confronted him at an airshow one day and told him he really shouldn't have painted his warbird that disgusting colour. "Why?" replied the owner, "What colour is yours?" 8-)
  19. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/HeidiLandRover/Colchester8.jpg[/img] This is my little collection at Colchester Garrison last year.
  20. well, most of us started out that way ;-)
  21. Yeah - I was at Boscombe Down too. I've still got the "Salute to the Mighty Eigth" mug on the shelf in my kitchen. :afro:
  22. Is that a genuine camo scheme or just something funky thought-up by our French friends? :dunno:
