  1. I've always found that those who go on about it the most usually have the least to offer.... Anyway, I heard you can't even fire blanks?
  2. ''Nah, we need to get there before our uniforms go out of date.......''
  3. No please, anything but that! I'll be good, I promise......
  4. Oh yeah? He's just sucking up..... M10 owners! :-D
  5. No need to beg Steve, Jack will do anything for a biscuit.....
  6. I see it more as trying to look busy to avoid having their staffing levels cut......
  7. Yes but the SPs were so far back, the tanks had knocked out all the Tigers before they got there.......
  8. Hmm, it's no coincidence that in these times of shrinking public sector budgets there appears to be more activity on the enforcement and rule interpretation front......
  9. Yes, I was referring to the 3500kg example, should have been more specific.
  10. It is true that vehicles plated to a gross weight over 3500 kg require a tacho provided they are capable of being used over that weight. So a 3.5 tonne Transit with a towbar fitted needs a tacho, as does a Land Rover if used commercially. The 750 kg trailer allowance is for a 7500 kg truck which can operate at 8.25 tonnes with a trailer without needing an LGV licence. Private use exempts you from the requirement to use the tacho.
  11. Too right, I've been waiting for Jack to say ''I have driven a tank'' before pointing out it was only a self propelled gun.... (sorry Adrian!)
  12. Yes, Pounds to Peter to Budge to, I think, Alan Cors in Virginia. Budges other M10, the 17 pdr, was from Oswald plant and is now at the Littlefield Collection. Mike Phelps' M10 is also in the US. The Panther was bought by Eddie Kenton and ended up with a Herr Flick. (I kid you not)
  13. Oi! There was nothing wrong with my engine... (though I'm not prepared to tempt fate by saying any more about the subject)
  14. Without someone spending a huge sum to recover the aircraft for a return to flight restoration in the first place, many of these wrecks would never be seen again at all. The P-38 is a particularly good example.
  15. That M4A3E2 Cobra King has survived and is currently under restoration in the US.
  16. Paul, yes, same part numbers for Cromwell. I'd be interested in any duplicates you may have, none of mine are genuine WD items.
  17. That's either the petrol or the booze, either way it's going to be a good weekend!
