  1. I think your best bet for finding out what they are is by posting them on the Warrelics and/or Wehrmacht Awards forums?
  2. It's a matter of common sense and up to the driver what he feels comfortable with. If that includes a walker in hi-viz, too bad for the organisation. In the end it is the responsibility of the driver and if something happens you can't point at the organisation as an excuse. And if the organisation doesn't like that, the obvious solution is to leave the vehicle where it parked on arrival...
  3. He seems to mistake MV enthusiasts for commercial parties. I agree with the above analysis of the stalls but it seems that's not how the organizer sees it. I am by no means a W&P veteran like some are here, but I did attend 7 or 8 times so I understand the MV point of view quite well. If I have the opportunity to go I think I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and attend this year again. Communication obviously isn't their stongest point so it might be not that bad at all. I guess I'll just have to see what happens.
  4. Tropical version, I think late-war? It's probably dated somewhere.
  5. What an amazing find! Best of luck getting her back on tracks!
  6. And apparently taken down again. The complete jeep made €31.000, the closed cab GMC workshop €2.300 and the open cab one €6.200. All ex. 40% premium & vat.
  7. The second one is a German M38 Fallschirmjäger (paratroop) helmet. I can't comment if it's an original or repro, but most you see nowadays are repro so this one will most likely be too. If it isn't you'll have hit the jackpot though. Best to wait for more opinions.
  8. €4300 ex premium & vat. Awesome machine indeed
  9. Lot #7 €10,250 Lot #8 €17,500 Lot #9 €14,758 All excl. the 40% premium & vat.
  10. Prices are now gone from the website but I wrote down all of them so just ask if you want to know about certain lots. I don't know. I didn't pay much attention to it at the viewing but it would have fooled me. I wonder what makes it a repro too...
  11. The one that went for 43K was a real one. The repro one went for 17k.
  12. All winning bids on https://www.troostwijkauctions.com/uk/collectie-jaap-de-groot/02-20818/ Prices are in € though and not in £... Current rate is €1,00 = £0,77 at the moment. There was a bid of €344.300 on the combination of Sherman & the parts lot, which might get preference over the bids for the seperate lots? With a few exceptions these prices are just beyond any reasonable explanation. And that's before the 40% premium...
  13. No, it's 21% over the hammer price PLUS 21% over the markup, not 21% over hammer price and markup together. This screenshot of a (cancelled) bid was posted on another webforum, it shows the components of the final price.
  14. The total price is as follows: Bid + 16% actioneer's premium = subtotal. Subtotal + 21% VAT of the bid + 21% VAT of the auctioneer's premium = Total price. So for a bid/hammer price of €1000, it would be 1000 + 160 + 210 + 33,6 = €1403,6. That makes it just over 40% to add. I went to the viewing too and I have no explanation for quite a lot of the bids. For some vehicles the bids by themselves would already be near or over the top value, let alone if you add another 40%...
  15. Quite a few of the vehicles in this auction already have bids that are nearing the top of their marketvalue as it is, without the additional 40% that would push them way above that. And this happens to common types... Not sure what is going on?
  16. The last few replies above illustrate what I meant earlier, reactions to comments originally posted on another forum under what might be a different context. It's easy to see how this can result to mis-communication and misunderstandings so I hope the organiser will be able to reply to questions and assumptions first-hand.
  17. Based on the organisers' comments posted before, 60% of all exhibitors are scammers... I have been booked in as a crewmember on a friend's armoured car for the last few years for free and that was completely according to the rules, but apparently everyone who doesn't pay is a scammer now. £25 for a week's stay isn't unreasonable and having to pay something for the drastically improved toilet facilities is worth it too, but his apparent arrogance does strike a nerve. It would help indeed if he could bother to answer some questions here. He does have a few valid points too and maybe his tone is the result of a changed context. I haven't decided yet but maybe I'll give the coming show the benefit of the doubt and see if I still like it. In the past I have attended with my father in our jeep but he is too old to stay in a tent for a week now, so instead he now enters his classic Mercedes and sleeps off-site in a hotel for a few days. Because they now also allow civilian classic cars he will still attend.
  18. That Flak 3-ton is absolutely real. Ofcourse Bruce knew what it was when he bought it, he told me about it long before that episode of CD aired and he was very excited he found it. I hope to see some regular updates about the Panther on the ATS facebook too!

  20. Originally, a lot of vehicles were also radio-suppressed, which among others meant they got extra grounding straps. I'm sure there is information to be found where these extra straps were placed on a GMC, and they're pretty simple and cheap to make yourself. Maybe that's an option? Here's some good info on how to make them yourself: http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=265682
  21. I've had several pairs of these for daily use, as I like their looks and they are comfortable. I bought them new for around a tenner per pair at W&P, but the soles were completely worn after 6 months or so of daily use. I always thought the material was softer because they were made for use in sandy areas. I've kept them all and the uppers are in great shape, so I'll have to check to see how much they would charge for a re-sole.
