Thanks are they ok for finding parts not listed on there site .Hope to to have it on the road by the end of the summer, suspect it has been with British forces as TP marked in PSI ,tub is rot free bar fateeg cracks in flour near body mounts . Need to fab chanels for base of doors . Can any one post a scaled pic of these chanels thanks Graham.

Thanks RUSHTON for the mesurement engine now mounted clutch and drive tested ok, next full rewire and panel repair were gas axe has been yoused to gain axses to brake pipes .Can any one point me to the best pases to find parts as need to replase brake lines speedo cable and hi/lo cable plus other parts.
  4. Im in need of the mesurement between the chassy rails .as the one below the engine has been removed ,I need to replace this to pull the lower wish bones back into the corect posion with the new engine .Heres a few pics of the project so far .

  6. Just come off the phone to Cherished car renewing my unimog insurance ,they have no problem over country of origin .

  9. Thanks for the info would have thourt they were later , looks like i need to find some more 3foot sections ,will add nicly to the radios i take out at the minit .Peoples noulage on here puts the web to shame.

  11. This is the earial ,have have loaded it up with my SEG-15D from 160m to 40m .

Picked up what i beleave is a ground spike earial at the weekend, but have not been able to find any info on its age or youse , the only marking on it are ZA43193 on the large poles and ZA29832 W.T.B MK1/1 on the insulator ,fully built up it is about 10m from insulator to the tip of the earial, I wonder if any one can help with aplication and age .
  13. The land rover youses a 9.5" clutch ,the series 2a clutch cover cover may sute you job, check the spline dimentions then you should be able to match a drive plate.
  14. You may find that the smaller tyres improve the road manner and mpg as the engine is not worked so hard ,this is what i found on my unimog 404 ,holding top gear in general running rather than screaming in 5th or lower at the smallest off hills .
  15. One thing to remember on these older motor, is that a non ep oil should be yoused if there is bronze in the box ,as the ep agent degrads the bronze bearings.

There seems to some confution over the difrance between red and road diesel ,Bar marine red all diesel now containes the same bio content with the red die and tracer been added as the fuel is ladded into the tanker for delivery to the customer.The problem with filters is that some of the older paper types brake up due to the bio content ,will ask the supplyer at work if there is a list of the types to change for newer units.

  20. What size washers are you after ,I may have some ,Newark autojumble this weekend should be as good a place as any to find some if not. As for 1 1/2 try newbury sortout on the 2 oct .
  21. Glad to be of help ,the fort is a familer sight to me as i grew up in the area ,will ask my uncle if he has any close up pics as he fishes the waters near the fort.
