I managed to get some work in on the 6 pdr recently completeing the lower sheild and fabricating the splinter plate that hangs down below the gun.I ended up having to make the hinges as there was nothing I could find suitable.final job is to fabricate the main sheild which is a bit more technical,a friend of mine will plasma cut the plate and fold the correct rake leaving me with tarting up jobs . 11. Alan The American 155mm gun did come from Rotunda recently, apparently it was donated to firepower many years ago by a regiment based at Catterick. It will be used as a gate guard which is a real shame as it is in remarkable condition. Steve, The D20 is a different gun I believe, not to sure where it has appeared from but judging by all the Artillery firepower have had to dispose of it probably came from there also. Could have done with some coming my way !!! Rob.........................rnixartillery.

Right Chaps, It was my Stallion that was regretfuly at A+S,there is also another preserved Stallion in the Royal engineers museum at Gillingham (if that is were the museum is ) This was the clean one at War and Peace last year,it is cared for by several friends of the museum. 25. Hi Folks, Bit of an odd one this, I normally spend my time restoring Artillery but recently put together a mock up of a forward Artillery observation post.I picked the 'wooden jeep 'up several weeks ago with the remains of a 62 set and a 1945 dated manual with fitting instuctions. The jeep fittings were also made to be removed and used on mule packs which carried the radio, batteries, charger and all the ancilleries.I am still short of a few bits but its very close. The jeep is very similar to those used by the artillery towards the end of the war and into the 1950's as forward observation posts who's role would be to radio co-ordinates back to artillery batteries. It makes a good display although its in with the yank stuff. If anyone has a spare war time aeriel base ,I would be interested. :cool2: Rob...........................rnixartillery.
