  1. Paul at Withams told me they had a Thompson stolen on Saturday while it was raining. I heard some other dealers complaining about things going missing too. I did not have anything stolen this year, but a couple of years ago I had the light lenses stolen from my Lightweight one night. Someone camped near by had the wheel nuts stolen from his 101, and another Lightweight owner had his antenna base stolen... all in the same night. Chris
  2. I would have done if it had been well enough to make it.. there's always next year! Chris
  3. ... and the machine guns that were stolen from a few of the dealers... Chris
  4. The arena was very VERY bumpy this year, I'm not sure what they've done to it, I don't remember it being like that before. You can see how much the big tanks are bouncing about, it was 10 times worse in a little CVRT... even going slowly. Nice video! Chris
  5. That could have been painful..! Chris
  6. Paul, Yes that was my night vision sight, did his photos come out well? Chris
  7. My photos are here: http://www.sirhc.co.uk/cgi-bin/emAlbum.cgi?cmd=show_thumbs&path=Beltring 2006&tn=1 Chris
  8. Paul, Was that you who offered us firewood? I was camped opposite with the Spartan. If so thanks for the wood, we still have some of it! I have had problems with the instrument panel before on my Ferret and broke one for spares... I may be able to help with the switch, I'll see if I can find the bits...! Chris
  9. Did you synchronise the points as per the manual? Was the condensor a new one or one which has been in a box for years? Also check the mixture screws, remember there are 2 of them and you must do exactly the same thing to both of them. Have you left it to warm up? Does it do the same thing when warm? Those tubes Richard talks about should expand and close up any gaps when warm. Chris
  10. Yes, but I do 60 in mine (at times, on the flat or downhill!) and I still drive it in the winter! Chris
  11. Clive, I don't entirely agree with you there... he's more identifiable as the bloke in a top hat! Chris
  12. Thanks again Lee, I hope they behaved ok. They can be a bit of a bugger to do tight turns in when cold! Chris
  13. Lee, Sounds like you were just unlucky there! Some tools from Machine Mart are junk, like the allen keys which bent when I tried to use them, but other things seem better. Chris
  14. Try Machine Mart for the jack, we've had a 12 ton bottle jack from there for years, it wasn't expensive. Chris
  15. Jack, Sounds like the brakes were stuck on. We had this problem with our Fox the other week. The problem was a faulty servo which was not releasing the pressure, the result was glowing red discs and lots of smoke. Chris
  16. Is James bringing his Ferret down again? Chris
  17. Maybe also the only Dutch man to wear a kilt?
  18. Is it not that K6 gantry truck? http://www.rememuseum.org.uk/vehicles/wrv/vehk6gs.htm Chris
  19. I can fit in those side bins - which is fine untill someone shuts the door Chris
  20. We always take trips out to the supermarkets nearby to pick up supplies, or visit the local chippy if we can't be bothered. The show food is expensive, and after a few days gets very boring. It always helps to have a military Land Rover so you can slip in and out of the show during the day un-noticed! Chris
  21. The more you drive it the better it will run and the less it will leak. Better get it filled with fuel and take it to some shows! Chris
  22. I've been using Liquimatic No. 1, seems to do the job. I think I have a load of NOS small cans of OM13 or OM15, I'll have to check, if anyone needs some. Chris
  23. Lee, If none of the surplus dealers (Ramco, Jacksons, Withams or Vass) can help, you could always try ATS. They deal with truck tyres, and they are a standard size and pattern, so you never know! They saved my Ferret the other week by stocking the correct inner tubes...! Chris
