  1. Lee, No not yet - had the Spartan in bits the last few days. New oil, filters, tune up and a new nyloc nut to stop the fan from making a horrible noise. Now thats ready for the low loader to Beltring we can get back on with the Fox again. This afternoons job - change the servo Chris
  2. Degsy, Sorry about that, yes the Fox was at home being shunned after the brakes caught fire! Chris
  3. 3 is not too many, it's not enough! :-P Nice collection Chris
  4. Berni, Yes I remember - nice to meet you, see you again at Beltring? Chris
  5. Lee, The quote I just got from him was twice that, hmm. Chris
  6. Lee, I am not sure how it happened, probably partly due to lack of use (10 years outside) and partly due to a stuck servo. When we first connected it up we connected it to the coolant system by mistake. We tested it it and it seemed fine so we left it, but bought a spare incase this happened. We have a new servo on the shelf, and will be fitting it when we rebuild the cylinders and put in some new pads. Where did you get the seals from? I've asked Richard Banister, but am going to see if they are standard commercial items before buying. Chris
  7. Did everyone who went have a good weekend? We seem to have had some pretty bad luck when taking vehicles to Kemble, and the luck struck again for us this time. The Fox was booked in, but the brakes locked on and caught fire on Wednesday and we couldn't rebuild them in time. I took the Ferret instead but ended up picking up 2 punctures on the way down. I don't use run flats, and have never had a puncture before! Luckily ATS in Cirencester had some inner tubes, and Paul with the Scammell Explorer had a Ferret split rim tyre changing kit so we were able to sort it out. My mates K2 Canteen truck died on the way home too, luckily not far from home. I wonder how busy roadsure were this weekend, anyone else break down? Chris
  8. Jack, Lee got it in one, yes they are excellent. So good infact that crews of pretty much all armoured vehicles use them if they can get hold of them. Check out ebay item # 8831448116 Chris
  9. Just a word of warning, I am using the new Internet Explorer 7. So far no problems with any sites, but it doesn't like HMVF at all: Also I can't log in to use the gallery, even in Firefox? Cheers, Chris
  10. Hi Folks, I've updated the Fox website (http://www.cvrw.co.uk) and put a new owners page up. If anyone on here has a Fox, or knows of one, which isn't listed please let me know. If you send me the details and a picture I'll add it to the list. Eventually I will update the rest of the site, but I have been a bit busy recently: Cheers, Chris
  11. Probably not the best way to do this, but this is how I did mine: First make sure all the clutch hydraulics are good, I replaced both cylinders and bled the system. Then make sure all the brakes are good. Put it on axle stands, then start the engine in top gear 4wd. Rev it so that you're getting a good turn of speed at the wheels, I think I had about 40 on the speedo. Then press the clutch in and hit the brakes. Hopefully the brakes will lock the wheels and the clutch will be free. It worked for me straight away, although the noise was a little bit scary! (I used 4 axle stands and several jacks, you do not want it falling off and then going straight into whatever it in front) Chris
  12. I wrote something for CMV but it's still not been published due to the other magazine running a similar article. :-( It appears though that the other magazine didn't even read their own article, which was about telling the difference between various CVRTs since they always get them wrong! :? Chris
  13. You can use any of my pics too.. Chris
  14. They're also all WW2, how about something modern too? Chris
  15. Looks ok, not sure about the orange though? Chris

    New

Can we have a 'New messages since your last visit' link back please?! Chris
  17. Quite a few vehicles have a cover listed in the CES. If you're lucky you can find one and they're very handy. I have the correct cover for the Spartan and it's excellent, all the ropes tie down exactly where you'd want them to. Chris
  18. With quite a lot of the people who attend W&P anything is correct as long as it looks 'cool'.... look at all the Sand & Green Mk 2 Pigs driving around last year. The people who annoy me most though, and a lot of people can annoy me, are the people with either no vehicles and a huge camp in the Americas field, or that lot with the M38A1 (look out for them, you'll see it driving around the stalls when it shouldn't be) with big suspension, huge tyres and US Army stenciled on the side. It looks daft and they have no military tents etc but take up more space than us. I guess the only reason they are there is because they pay, but it's not really fair to those of use who make the effort.... Rant over! Chris
  19. FV432 Mk 1 Pack: Chris
  20. I was crusing around in the sunshine for the hell of it in my Spartan the other day, it was while the world cup was on and the roads were deserted. I'm sure the 7 people in the back had a much more enjoyable time than watching the football  Chris
  21. Mark, Thanks for that... Lee has offered to rope us off an area in the Americas field, so we will be on one of the main drags in there if that works out. Cheers, Chris
  22. Mark, Who can I contact to arrange a reserved space for our group? We always arrive on the Monday, last year we got there, set up our tents etc and were told we had to move. We were then put in a stupid place in the middle of the field down some tiny tracks. Not useful when we had 2 CVRTs to move backwards and forwards to the arena. This year we have a 432, the CVRTs again, a Ferret and a Fox plus the softskin vehicles. We'd like to reserve a space if at all possible, especially as we like to do all the arena events. Cheers, Chris

    'C' MV

Yes but my point is that he is grouping together very different vehicles. He might as well just write 'Tank' and a price! Chris
